Award winning BBC Radio 1 presenter, tastemaker and now author, Phil Taggart has been steeped in music since as long as he can remember.
Phil Taggart is one of the youngest faces tearing up the nighttime on BBC Radio 1. His specialist Thursday 9pm show is a frenzied merry-go-round of everything from the dark and edgy wrath of bass music to the twee warblings of one man and a recorder… and all the grey in between. It’s fresh and fast paced, very much akin to his DJ sets.
Having cut his teeth behind the decks of Northern Ireland’s best nightspots, he has now moved onto the rest of the UK. Whether it be dropping club sets at Koko in London or Gorilla in Manchester, supporting TV On The Radio, drawing a crowd at Field Day or keeping a room of Freshers entertained for an hour, his vibrant and versatile have made him a hit wherever he has played.
